In order to make our students acutely aware of the world around them and to sensitize them towards ecological conservation, we have formed Nature Club. Through awareness programmes the members were shown how to learn to enjoy ecological harmony without hampering ecological well-being.

SNP College Nature Club is the environmental initiative of Sree Narayana Paramahamsa College of Arts and Science, Poonjar. The club has been designed to make our students messengers of ecological harmony. Under the initiative of the club we have been regularly observing and recording the flora and fauna of our beautiful campus. SNP College Poonjar is really proud of its clean and green campus. SNP College Nature Club has observed and documented 49 species of birds,78 species of butterflies and as many as 29 species of dragonflies and damselflies. The very high number of birds, butterflies and dragonflies is a sure guarantee that SNP College Poonjar has a clean environment around the campus. Our bird sightings are regularly being posted in ebird.org, giving SNP College Poonjar a distinct place in it. We are sure that SNP College Poonjar is the only self-financing college in Kottayam district with such an active environmental forum.
